The University of Richmond (also known as UR and U of R) is a private liberal arts university in the West End of Richmond.

The Spider mascot, "Spidey", is unique to the University of Richmond. The Spiders compete in the Atlantic 10 (A-10) conference in all varsity sports except football, where they are in the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA).

- The Collegian - The student body's independent newspaper is published in print every other week and a daily online version. The paper was first published in 1914.
- RichmondNow - The university's official newspaper for faculty, staff, and students. It is published monthly during the school year.
- Richmond Alumni Magazine - Published quarterly and mailed to alumni courtesy of the Alumni Association.
- CommunityWeb - A monthly email newsletter distributed to a public mailing list. Features events, news, and educational programs taking place at the university.
- SpiderWeb - A once or twice monthly email newsletter distributed by the Alumni Relations and Media and Public Relations offices to alumni and friends of the university.
- SpiderBytes - A daily digest of campus news that is only available to students and faculty.
