Richmond has it's own chapter of the internationally organized Social Media Club. According to its Facebook page, the club "brings together journalists, publishers, communications professionals, artists, amateur media creators, citizen journalists, teachers, students, tool makers, and other interested collaborators."
The club is opening to people joining and has monthly meetings here in Richmond.
A competing social media gathering called Hashbrownnetworking takes place every Wednesday at a local Waffle House.
