A spring tradition in Richmond, the Monument Avenue Easter on Parade event is an excuse for Richmonders to stroll up and down Monument Avenue on Easter Sunday dressed in Easter bonnets, funny hats, and their finest attire.

The Parade is scheduled for Sunday, April 4 2010 from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. and usually happens rain or shine.

You may see, hear, or eat the following:
- Women in hats
- Men in fancy clothes
- Other strange costumes
- Excellent people-watching
- Dressed up dogs - costumed dogs seemingly outnumber normal dogs
- Street performers - magicians, clowns, actors, human statues, and trained animals have been sighted in years past
- Live music - a wide variety of amateur acts line the streets to entertain the crowds
- Food and craft vendors - funnel cakes, fresh lemonade, elephant ears, popcorn, grilled meats
- Games and other activities for kids

The Easter Parade takes place on Monument Avenue between Allen Avenue and Davis Avenue although adjacent side streets are usually full of pedestrians as well.
