Richmond is host to many July 4th fireworks displays and celebrations. Although fireworks are illegal to purchase in Virginia, licensed companies can put on shows with a proper permit.

The Richmond Flying Squirrels will feature fireworks displays on July 1, July 3 and July 4 after the home games against the Erie SeaWolves. More Info
[edit] Dogwood Dell
Dogwood Dell, part of Byrd Park, hosts several thousand spectators for musical performances followed by fireworks at dusk.

- 6:45pm - Carillon Bell Concert
- 7:15pm - Richmond Concert Band performs patriotic and popular music.

Colonial Downs hosts an annual Racing to the Stars & Stripes event that features horse racing, patriotic music, and fireworks.
- July 3rd and July 4th after the 5:00pm post time races and an after part

The Brandermill subdivision hosts fireworks and patriotic festivities for Brandermill residents only.
[edit] Chesterfield Fourth of July Celebration
An after-dark fireworks show at the Chesterfield County Fairgrounds. Gates open at 5:00pm on July 4th. Bring a blanket or lawn chair. Admission is free, alcohol, glass, pets and personal fireworks are not permitted. Gates open at 5pm, fireworks after dark.
