The Richmond branch of ComedySportz opened in 1996, and had its own permanent theater until the end of March 2009.
In 2009 and 2010, Richmond's ComedySportz resumed regular performances at the Glen Allen Cultural Arts Center while searching for a new permanent home.
In May 2011, ComedySportz Richmond reopened in a new theatre in the Gold's Gym at West Tower shopping center on West Broad Street.
