I added a “Stub” template tonight and applied it to a few dozen articles that are in need of some more content. By creating this template, RichmondWiki editors can easily find articles categorized as stubs and contribute more content to them. It might also encourage average readers to add some content as they realize it is not yet a “complete” article.
How to Use Stubs
To designate an article as a stub, simply add the following syntax anywhere in the article content:
{{Stub}}
Typically this is inserted near the bottom of the article.
The Result
Any article that is designated as a stub will have the following text appear where the {{Stub}} tag is placed:
This article is a stub. You can help improve RichmondWiki.org by expanding it. Check our Help Content for more information about editing articles.
Clicking the “expanding it” link will open an editing window for that article.
